I am sure, like myself, you have a stash of gift bags stored in a cupboard that you simply don’t know what to do with. They are great to keep and reuse but it is unlikely that you will reuse them all. I have far too many so I have created a fun and simple way to re-purpose my favourite kiddie gift bags. I hope that this inspires you to do the same!
Here is how to re-purpose your favorite gift bags into great artworks!
- 1. PICK THE PERFECT GIFT BAGS
Find the gift bags with your favourite images and pair them with others that have simple colours and designs.
- 2. FIND A FRAME OR CANVAS
Find a frame or multiple frames that you are no longer using. If you would like to use more than one frame, remember that they do not need to be the same design or size to look great!
The frames that may need a little TLC can simply be painted for a fresh new look.
You can also use old canvas paintings that you no longer have hanging on your walls.
- 3. DESIGN A COLLAGE
Your gift bags will probably not fit the frame measurements so this is the time to get creative. Simply cut out your desired images and play around with different
- 4. SECURE YOUR COLLAGE DESIGN
Simply glue the images in place with a glue stick or Modge Podge.
Either glue them onto the Masonite board from the back of your frame or directly onto the canvas to secure the collage position.
- 5. FINISHED EFFECT
If your image is in a frame, simply frame your collage gift bag design.
If you have chosen to use canvas instead, as an optional extra, you can Modge Podge or vanish over your gift bag collage design to give it a glossy finish.
As simple as that!
