Hey, I’m Natalie

I’m here to help inspire you and your art students to open their minds and expand their creativity! Being an art teacher, one would think that this comes naturally, but with the overwhelming responsibilities of teacher life, creativity often dies. Well, it did with me.

I hope to teach you ways to live a healthy and creative life, creating practices and using tools that give you life. With more passion and excitement, you will have the energy and vigour to give more to your students.

Before entering teacher and mom life, I lived a creative, happy, and healthy life. A life full of art-making, dance and travel. A life I felt blessed to live. Fast forward years later, trying to balance teaching full-time and being a mom to my two beautiful babies. Getting through each day was a struggle. I had stopped every healthy habit from my past. Art, dance and travel became a distant memory. Anxiety and stress peaked in early 2023 when I was tested and retested multiple times by multiple doctors for my ongoing heart palpitations, chest pain and light headedness. Finally, through an extensive stress test, the results came back. I had burnt out! I had developed depersonalisation disorder and had many symptoms of an anxiety disorder. I tried different medications, but it did not help much. The best advice was given to me by a physician. It was a lifestyle change. I would have to change my life to change my condition.

My wellness journey started that day, and I have seen an improvement. I make time to move my body, eat real food and make time for sleep and art daily! I have a long journey to go, but I vowed I would help others, specifically in the teaching world, that may feel the same stress, anxiety and overwhelm that I did.

It would be an honour to guide you through healthy habits to fuel your creative spirit and inspire your students to do the same. Using my downloadable resources and blog, I hope to make your overwhelming teachers schedule lighter. I will continue to grow the library of teaching resources for the creative arts and more.

Let’s journey together to make a beautiful, healthy life and to share our joy and passion for the arts with the many students that pass through our doors.
